Embracing Gratitude in Life's Journey

Welcome to the Core Prayer Series with Rabbi Ari Herzog from Chabad of the Valley. Today, we continue exploring the morning blessings, focusing on the blessing of movement. Before we dive in, consider this: What is your instinctive reaction when you're stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic?

As we reflect on the blessing that acknowledges our ability to walk, let’s remember that every step we take is a miracle. From the excitement of a baby’s first steps to the challenges faced by those who can no longer walk, we often overlook the precious gift of mobility. Each year, the average person walks around 3 million steps—that’s about 900 miles!

This blessing reminds us that our ability to move is a divine gift, orchestrated by God. Wherever we find ourselves, there’s a purpose. Just like Joseph in Egypt, our circumstances may seem random, but they are part of a larger plan.

Next time you feel frustrated by delays or unexpected situations, take a moment to breathe and reflect. Perhaps these moments are opportunities to learn patience or to fulfill a higher purpose.

Join us as we uncover the deeper meanings behind our prayers and embrace the blessings in our daily lives. Let’s make today a day filled with gratitude and purpose!
